About Ry
As a traveling musician throughout most of his 20s, he realized quickly that the lifestyle and income of a touring musician would either kill him or cause him to go broke very quickly.
Ry always knew he wanted to be in control of his own destiny and was introduced to the world of insurance and financial planning at age 28. He started at the very bottom of my profession, literally going door to door selling insurance. Over time, he found a passion for coaching and developing new financial advisors, which led him into a leadership position where he was responsible for recruiting and developing new and experienced financial advisors.
Fast forward to 2014: Ry was given the opportunity to buy a (then) struggling wealth management and insurance firm, and he currently owns Compass Financial Strategies (doing business as MassMutual South Carolina). They do business nationally, with a focus on the state of South Carolina. In the last 7 years they have grown to over $1 billion in assets under management as well as over $1 billion in insurance in force....And he still plays the drums on a daily basis!!
